Colton and the dragons were turning summersaults as they flew through the air at lightning speed. “Don’t let go of each other’s hands,” Colton shouted. Suddenly, they started falling through the air, landing on the ground.

The time machine landed safely in the middle of summer, 1777! Check the boxes to make sure your time-travel bag is ready for the heat:

“I knew it!” Bowie frowned. “Admit it, Colton, your time machine went haywire.”
Colton looked at the typewriter to ensure he had entered the words correctly. “Nope, I entered it correctly.”
“Now, what are we going to do?” asked Bowie.
“George Washington has to be around here somewhere,” Colton said.
“Yeah, right,” Zac said, pulling up a handful of weeds and tossing them at Colton.
“Stop that, Zac!” Colton said. “Hey, I hear something? It sounds like water splashing.
You dragons wait here.” Colton crawled through the weeds to the edge of the field.
“Oh, my gosh! That’s George Washington! He’s tossing stones into the water.” Colton crawled back to the dragons and said, “I found George.”
“Oh, boy! Let’s go!” Bowie said, getting up.
“Not so fast,” Colton said, pulling the blue dragon to the ground. “I’m going to tell you a story about George.
